Adagé Dancers return to big Cowichan stage in style after 2 years

“These children have persevered!”

Adagé Studio was back on the big stage at the Cowichan Performing Arts Centre on Thursday, Feb. 3, for the first time since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Their Winter Highlights show featured the Adagé Competitive Program dancers and the Cowichan Valley Dance Academy dancers. The former group has not been able to perform in two years and the latter is a new program on stage for the first time.

“Their parents have driven them to classes and competitions only to sit in the parking lot watching them through a screen,” said the program for the event. “These children have persevered! They have kept showing up in the hopes this day would arrive.”

And they arrived in style. From the youngest to the most experienced, the dancers put on a great show, full of energy and technique for an appreciative audience.
