It was Cinderella with a zesty twist as the dancers from Adage Studio closed off their 2015/16 year with a blockbuster show at the Cowichan Performing Arts Centre last week.

There was plenty of tradition with songs like ‘A Dream Is a Wish Your Heart Makes’ and ‘Lavender Blue’ but then there was lots of right-now fun with numbers such as ‘Can’t Touch This’ and ‘Bridezillas’.

And, while the musical genres ranged widely, so did the styles of dancing; the audience was treated to everything from tap and jazz to pointe ballet and hip hop. Performers ranged from teeny tinies taking their first bows to smoothly skilled dancers whose years of dedication was obvious.

The big theatre was packed last Saturday afternoon, and there was lots of applause for the dance selections as well as the story acted out by the musical theatre students.
