Audience enjoyed colourful Spirit of India performance

The idea of joining a colourful musical journey from Rajasthan to Mumbai drew a big, excited crowd to the Cowichan Performing Arts Centre.

The idea of joining a colourful musical journey from Rajasthan to Mumbai drew a big, excited crowd to the Cowichan Performing Arts Centre Friday, Sept. 25.

Some came from as far away as Victoria to see the show, some had never visited the theatre before, some had hoped for a bit more bhangra dance music but everyone agreed it was a superb performance by the Bollywood Masala Orchestra and Dancers.

Spirit of India

Led by Rahis Bharti, who introduced every number from his place among the talented group of musicians, the performers presented a variety of different kinds of entertainment played on a combination of western and traditional Indian instruments. It was a colourful trip to a distant land.
