Cowichan Lake Arts and Culture Society open house results in new logo, rebranding ideas

The number one selection for a public art undertaking was a community mural

Cowichan Lake Arts and Culture Society (CLAC) has a new logo following a 96 per cent vote in favour during the organization’s fifth anniversary open house on Oct. 23.

“The logo was created by Loretta Puckrin, Secretary-Treasurer of CLAC and will used in re-branding the organization in 2023,” said a press release issued by the CLAC.

The legal name will remain unchanged.

Attendees also voted on CLAC projects for the 2023 season.

“Workshops popular for the coming year were photography, watercolour (instructor Loretta Puckrin), dance and pottery workshops led by our VP Rosemary Danaher. The number one selection for a public art undertaking was a community mural.”

More art exhibits were also requested as well as annual summer concert.

“Thanks to everyone who came out to see the many types of art on display which included paintings, quilts, carvings, sculpture, cards and jewelry. The star of the show was Reed, age 11, who submitted four excellent art pieces. We look forward to seeing more of her creations in the future,” said the release.

What’s more, Lois Atchison won the door prize basket which included many handcrafted items made by CLAC members.

More members are always welcome to join the group.

“The more members and volunteers we have the more events and workshops we can hold,” said the release.
