Live streaming is something the Duncan Showroom is used to doing with various artists, and they are thankful now for that experience, as in-person venues have been shut down by the COVID-19 pandemic.

“We been doing this for five years now with over 2,000 archived concerts on the YouTube Duncan Showroom channel,” noted Showroom owner Longevity John Falkner in a recent email update. “If you have not experienced this aspect of the Duncan Showroom Productions then you get on it right away https://www.youtube.com/c/DuncanShowroom/live.”

What can you find there to amuse yourself during these days of isolation? On Mondays at 5 p.m. there’s A Streetcar Named the Blues with David Vest, a multi award-winning blues/boogie piano player and blues historian for a half-hour show.

On Tuesdays, you can tune in at 5 p.m. for Eugene Smith with Telling Stories. Smith is also online for a half hour show where this veteran performer shares tales from his lifetime of experience.

On the last Tuesday of the month at 7:30 p.m. there’s FLOW with Bill Levity, where readers hook up on zoom and broadcast to the YouTube channel.

The plan is for Wednesdays at 5 p.m. to feature Jeff Plankenhorn from Campbell River, by way of Texas who is described at “one of those guitar slingers from the Austin, Texas scene now presenting his own material, kinda Austin City Limits North, tres cool.”

The Showroom has featured David Gogo performing for more than 500 online across the country, and Stephen Fearing did a CD release with Terry David Mulligan hosting the performance from his home. This also attracted more than 500 viewers.

Coming up in May are two more CD releases, the first on May 1 at 6 p.m with Quin, and the second on May 17 with Adam Bay.

“Yes, we are forging ahead with our skills, hoping you will tune into some upcoming concerts and check out our archived section,” said Falkner. “And if you see fit, please dig deep to donate to aid us getting through these life changing times.”
