To celebrate his 14th birthday, Malakai will be taking the stage at the Duncan Showroom.
On March 21 from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. this multi-instrumentalist will share his passion for music.
“Malakai sings with a soul surprising in one so young, with a voice well beyond his years,” said a press release for the event. “As an emerging songwriter, Malakai composes songs that are a portal of passion and sentiment. Covering folk, blues and pop ballads, he has a way of taking any song and making it his own.”
The show is by donation.
Following Malakai’s set is Dress Rehearsal Tuesday, where anyone is welcome to try out the stage. There is a maximum of three songs each and a cover of $5 for entry.
Also at the Showroom this month are Daryl Chonka on March 17, the Paul Black Trio on March 18, Kentucky Eileen and James Hamilton with Neil Golden on March 19, a comedy night on March 24, Ty Koch and Nico Rhodes on March 25, Sarah Smith on March 30, and The Lost Talkers on March 31.
