Imagine being outside and getting to do what you love? Teens aged 13-18 with a passion for musical theatre are in luck this summer, thanks to Camp Cue, Canada’s first overnight musical theatre training camp, running July 17-23 at Easter Seals Camp Shawnigan.

A first of its kind, the program will combine all of the typical camp activities one would expect at sleep-away camp: hiking, swimming, arts and crafts, kayaking and more, with high-level musical theatre training including ensemble building techniques, improv, acting through song, industry talks, Broadway Q&A’s and more.

Leading the camp are Camp Cue’s founders, Nicol Spinola and Nicole Stevens who combined have more than 30 years of experience in professional musical theatre. They will be joined by guest artists including Robert Markus, who is most recently known for performing the title role in Dear Evan Hansen.

“There are hundreds of kids right across B.C. who share my lifelong passion for musical theatre. Like me, they will have been training in studios week in, week out, but have never had the opportunity to hone their skills at a dedicated musical theatre overnight camp like Camp Cue,” Stevens said. “Camp Cue will give them the space to learn from some of our industry’s leading figures and allow them to express themselves to the full, all whilst experiencing the beauty B.C. has to offer at Camp Shawnigan.”
