Sunfest is announcing star after star as organizers complete the lineup for the huge country music festival next summer.

It was hot last year at Laketown Ranch and it’ll be a lot hotter as the country crowd welcomes Toby Keith as the headliner.

But lots of B.C. country fans will be looking forward to seeing Madeline Merlo on Sunday, Aug. 6. With ‘Sinking Like a Stone’, ‘Honey Jack’ and now ‘War Paint’ to her credit, Merlo is a real crowd pleaser.

Rising stars Old Dominion, are coming to the mainstage at Laketown Ranch on Thursday, Aug. 3. These guys are fun and charming as well as being one of the hottest country bands out there just now. When you’re Breakthrough Group of the Year and nominated for Best New Artist and also Vocal Group of the Year, you’re obviously bringing the thrill to country crowds around the continent.

Brett Kissell and Chris Janson are co-headliners on Friday, Aug. 4, Tim Hicks will be on the Mainstage Saturday, Aug. 5 and Bobby Wills hits the stage Sunday, Aug. 6.

The big festival is also spreading the news that it is bringing in Waterloo Revival as one of the mainstage support acts on Saturday, Aug. 5. These two talented up-and-coming musicians were signed to Toby Keith’s artist management group the moment that T. Kimbrell (Keith’s manager) heard them play.

And, Canadian country artist Corb Lund is also coming to Sunfest 2017.

From girls to survivalists, bovines to bibles, antique pistols to vintage motorcycles, this Alberta-born honky-tonker’s songcraft covers it all and has earned him a ton of awards along the way. And what makes it extra special is he’s no stranger to a Cowichan crowd, so if you loved him indoors, you’ll go wild when you see him on the big, big stage at Laketown Ranch on Friday, Aug. 4. Another late autumn announcement brings The Washboard Union into the fold. They’ll be helping kick off the fun on Thursday, Aug. 3.
