Duncan minister to lead United Church's BC Conference

Minister Keith Simmonds of Duncan United Church took over the role of Conference President for BC Conference of the United Church of Canada on May 31 for a two year term.

Simmonds has not always been a diaconal minister. Serving in many capacities, he has been a miner, smelter worker, pulp worker, bartender, volunteer fire-fighter, an advocate for the unemployed, and an assistant to cabinet ministers. He has also sung in light operas and coffee houses, and in local community choirs.

He and his family came to Duncan in 2013, attracted by the vibrant church they saw.
