A helicopter was called in for transport of one person following a crash in the Drinkwater Road area north of Duncan on Monday afternoon, Nov. 4.
Emergency crews were called to the scene of a two-vehicle crash around 2:30 p.m. at the intersection of Drinkwater Road and Highway 18.
RCMP said Tuesday morning that the crash happened when a pickup truck travelling west at highway speed collided with a garbage truck that had entered the intersection.
The driver of the pickup truck suffered life threatening injuries and was transported to hospital by air ambulance.
The driver of the garbage truck suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
An investigation is ongoing to determine the cause of the crash, RCMP said, but speed and alcohol are not suspected to be factors.
