The Lake Cowichan RCMP investigated a series of break and enters to a small business over the summer months in the 100 block of Cowichan Lake Road by two masked suspects.

In August, RCMP investigators executed a search warrant in the 7000 block of Neva Road in relation to that investigation.

As new information surfaced, two suspects were identified.

On Oct. 3, Lake Cowichan RCMP executed a second search warrant, this time in the 100 block of Quamichan Avenue, resulting in the recovery of stolen property and other evidence related to this series of break and enters.

“Lake Cowichan is a small town, powered by small businesses,” said Const. Brian Smith of the Lake Cowichan RCMP.

“When our businesses are targeted, it’s felt by the whole community. We’re thankful to those community members who have come forward with information, which has allowed us to move this investigation forward.”

The investigation remains ongoing, and anyone with information is asked to contact the Lake Cowichan RCMP at 250-749-6668
