Zuback visits Alberta Bears
Carter Zuback had an exceptional experience when the University of Alberta flew him out recently for a recruiting trip.
"During his visit, Carter practiced with the university team, toured the campus, and competed in the Alberta Open, a university-level wrestling tournament," said his dad and coach Nick Zuback. "He won two of his three matches, securing a bronze medal in the 65kg weight class. Notably, he defeated a competitor who had previously placed second at the USport Championships."
Zuback's club, the Cowichan Valley Wrestling Club, hosted a successful wrestling camp Jan. 3-4 at QMS. Roughly seven coaches and 38 wrestlers from across Vancouver Island took part.
"We had five-time Provincial High School Champion Talon Hird and Jacob Torres, a Canadian National Team member, as guest clinicians," said CVWC head coach Nick Zuback. "It was two tough days of training but all the kids pushed hard through it all."
