Two heavy planters were stolen from the front doors of the Pots and Paraphernalia store on Canada Avenue earlier this month.

Sometime overnight on July 16, suspects managed to haul away a pair of 500-pound planters full of dirt and flowers from the front entrance of the store.

“It is unknown how someone would make away with these planters without some concerted muscle to help them,” North Cowichan/Duncan RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Krista Hobday said.

The planters are black, with a pattern of woven-type shinier squares. It will cost about $1,000 to replace them.

“The owners would very much like to see the planters relocated back to the front of the store and spend that $1,000 on something else,” Hobday said.

Anyone with information about this crime should contact the North Cowichan/Duncan RCMP at 250-748-5522 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
