It’s time to learn about your candidates for municipal office. (submitted)

There are three all-candidates meetings scheduled to help voters in the Cowichan Lake area get to know their candidates.

The Cowichan Lake District Chamber of Commerce will be hosting these events that give the candidates opportunity to present their platforms and answer questions from the public so the public can make an informed decision prior to voting.

These meetings will be moderator-led events and will include introductions, rules and regulations, opening and closing remarks from all the candidates.

Interested in asking a question? You can take an online survey http://survey.constantcontact.com/survey/a07efqcseq9jmmkam6v/a019xjmnuxnvr/questions

The questions that you submit will assist the Chamber in conducting what it hopes will be a fair and unbiased forum.

For Lake Cowichan voters, the most exciting one is likely to be the face-off among the three men vying for the position of mayor, along with the other town council candidates, which is scheduled for Monday, Oct. 15, at Centennial Hall on South Shore Road from 7 to 9 p.m.

An all candidates session for those trying for positions on the board of school trustees is scheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 17 at Centennial Hall in Lake Cowichan, again from 7 to 9 p.m.

For Youbou residents, the candidates for CVRD Electoral Area I will present their platforms and answer questions on Thursday, Oct. 18 at Youbou Hall.

All candidates that are putting their names forward in this election and that would like to participate are asked to submit an email of confirmation along with approximately 75 words for a short bio and a photograph that will be placed in the programs and handed out to the public during the all candidates meetings. Email the Cowichan Lake District Chamber of Commerce at lcchamber@shaw.ca.

Saturday, Oct. 20 is election day.
