North Cowichan’s Libre Naturals was invited to supply its granola bars for Vancouver’s 2017 TED Talks, which took place April 24-28.

While Alana Elliott, founder of Libre Naturals, didn’t personally attending the TED Talks, all four flavours of her Libre Naturals granola bars were available for the taking at the TED café during the course of the event.

Speakers at the sold-out Vancouver event this year included tech giant Elon Musk, tennis superstar Serena Williams, and chess Grandmaster Garry Kasparov.

“I was hoping they’d let me come with my granola bars but if I couldn’t go, the next best thing was to have my products available to the thought leaders that both attended and spoke at the conference,” Elliott said.

“The attendees had an expectation that they would be fed with delicious, healthy, and preferably local snacks. Since the organizers know that many attendees have various dietary needs, they aimed to provide snacks that were gluten free and allergy friendly.”
