A staff-driven charitable initiative by Island Ford kicked off on March 5 at a Big Brothers Big Sisters bowling fundraiser in Duncan.
Island Ford will be donating $50,000 to 15 local charities, and the only criteria is that the fundraising efforts must be staff-driven, not dealer-driven.
That means that employees have full say over where the funds and volunteer time will go, which is intended to create a deeper connection and impact between the staff and the causes that mean the most to them in their community.
All charities who will receive a donation from Island Ford were notified on March 5, and Big Brothers Big Sisters received their cheque on that date.
“Our team at Island Ford is passionate about giving back to the community in any way that we can, and our employees have been eager to take the wheel in selecting the organizations to receive these donations,” said Justin Pambrun, Island Ford’s general manager.
“These 15 charities that we have chosen to donate our funds and volunteer time to each have a very special place in the hearts of our staff, and we are happy to do our part to make a difference.”
