Longtime Area H (North Oyster/Diamond) director Mary Marcotte has been granted a six-month leave of absence from her duties at the CVRD.

No reason for Marcotte’s break was given in a press release issued by the regional district spokesperson Kris Schumacher, and CVRD board chair Ian Morrison declined to comment citing a great responsibility to protect the privacy of the members of the board.

“In her absence, Area H – North Oyster/Diamond community members can direct day-to-day inquiries or correspondence to duly-appointed Area H Alternate Director Colin Haime,” said the news release.

Marcotte is a veteran director having served for the last 23-straight years, since 1997. She served as board chair from 2003 through 2005.
