Drop electronics at Island Savings Centre Feb. 9

Can’t make it to the Norcross Return-It depot to drop off your old electronics? On Feb. 9 you don’t have to.

BC Hydro Power Smart, 1-800-GOT-JUNK, the BCHL and Return-It Electronics are partnering to offer a two-hour window for drop-off at the Island Savings Centre just prior to the Cowichan Valley Capitals home game on Sunday, Feb. 9.

The Caps are hosting the Coquitlam Express and folks will be on site between noon and the puck drop at 2 p.m. to collect unwanted electronics, like televisions, computers and printers.

Everything will then be taken to the Return-It Electronics depot.

According to BC Hydro, electronics are expected to represent 15 to 20 per cent of home energy use in B.C. this year.
