The Cowichan Valley Regional District will provide up to 20 free monthly transit passes to refugees who recently moved to the district, regardless of their country or origin.
The free passes are meant to support the transition of refugees into the valley. The program will be open to all refugees settling in the CVRD from Jan. 1, 2016 to March 31, 2017.
The distribution of the passes will be administered by the Cowichan Intercultural Society.
