Huge fuel surcharge for mailing parcel

Crofton – I mailed a parcel today and was shocked that I was charged a $1.36 fuel surcharge on a postage of $13.31.

That is a 10.2 per cent surcharge.

Ironic that BC Ferries only had a 3.4 per cent fuel surcharge and that was just eliminated today due to falling fuel prices.

Given the flack and media coverage when ferries added the surcharge, I have to wonder why I have never heard of Canada Post ripping us off as well.
