Public education about, and eradication strategy to deal with invasive species will be a priority for North Cowichan's 2014 environmental student's work program, council voted Wednesday.
Council is also urging all local governments in the region to join in making invasive species education and eradication a priority in their jurisdictions.
As funding allows, tansy ragwort, Scotch broom and Japanese knotweed are all yanked within North Cowichan's Municipal Forest Reserve.
