The Cowichan Valley school district’s recent Poetry Slam saw approximately 60 students enjoy a workshop and then hear 12 students perform in a competition.
The winners were Jalah Novshadi in first place, Frances Kelsey Secondary; second: Shae Siddalls; and third: Rebekah Loranger, both of Chemainus Secondary. An honourable mention went to Kelsey’s Sierra Mackay.
