A motorcyclist has been hospitalized after a Trans-Canada Highway crash in Langford that caused delays on the Malahat.

Langford Fire Rescue Chief Chris Aubrey said the man was transported to hospital by ambulance crews with serious injuries.

Aubrey said the West Shore RCMP is investigating the incident.

The crash resulted in a northbound lane closure between the Leigh Road and Millstream overpasses which reopened around 1 p.m.

DriveBC was initially reporting “major delays due to congestion.”

Emergency crews have cleared the area but as of 1:30 p.m. there were still residual delays.
