Long investigation leads to multiple Ladysmith drug arrests

A months-long investigation into the drug rate in Ladysmith has led to multiple arrests by the RCMP.

Working with Island District General Investigations and specialized members from E Division Vancouver, the Ladysmith detachment conducted a two-month investigation and operation into the drug trade in the community, with roots going back into last fall.

Investigators purchased drugs, including heroin, cocaine, methamphetamine and GHB from six suspected dealers, all of whom were residing in Ladysmith. Several of the suspects have now been arrested.

No names were released, and the investigation remains active.
