Malahat crash victim identified

The Esquimalt man who died after a motor vehicle collision on the Trans-Canada Highway last Saturday night has been identified as 49-year-old Jack William MacMullan.

MacMullan was in the front passenger seat of a four-door Pontiac Grand Am travelling north on the highway when it crashed near Bamberton just before 8 p.m. Despite the efforts of emergency crews, including Shawnigan Lake firefighters, BC Ambulance and the RCMP, he was confirmed dead at the scene. The driver and a female passenger in the back seat sustained non-life-threatening injuries in the crash.

The RCMP and the BC Coroners Service continue to investigate the death.
