Man charged after break in to Duncan dental office

A 48-year-old Duncan man has been charged with three criminal code offenses after an early-morning break-in at a dental office.

A 48-year-old Duncan man has been charged with three criminal code offenses after an early-morning break-in at a Festubert Street dental office.

The incident occured about 6:50 a.m. on March 8 and police were notified when an alarm was activated.

Kurt Ernest Longacre was "located at the scene and quickly brought into custody for the break-in and subsequent destruction of dental office equipment," according to Cpl. Krista Hobday, North Cowichan/Duncan RCMP spokesperson.

Longacre has been charged with break and enter and commit an indictable offence, possession of stolen property, and possess break in instruments section.

He was remanded in police custody and his matter is now before the courts.
