A new food-delivery program will begin this month for residents of southern Vancouver Island.

Cowichan Bay’s Crowe and Appel Fine Foods and WOLF Cowichan Nature Education are bringing together their two passions, local healthy foods and nature education for youth, in a food-delivery program called Cowichan Bay Gourmet plus.

Starting this week, people can sign up for a weekly delivery of some of the best food products the region has to offer.

The program features products from Crowe and Appel Fine Foods, Cowichan Bay Seafood, True Grain Bakery, The Cure Artisan Meats, Henry and Jones Grass Fed Beef, Saltspring Sprouts and Mushrooms and The Gathering Place Spices and Teas.

A small number of customers can choose weekly delivery of packages of food, ranging from $50 to more than $200 for 12 weeks, beginning on Oct. 13.

Deliveries to Saltspring Island will be on Thursdays, the Cowichan Valley on Fridays and Victoria on Saturdays.

The small-scale personalized service will help support the nature education program that David Appel and Tashmyra Crowe, from Crowe and Appel Fine Foods, are running in cooperation with Fred Roland at the Sacred Cedar Centre.

This year, the plan is to support more than 200 students to learn, experience and become leaders in regenerative and resilient living skills for genuine earth stewardship. Visit www.croweandappel.ca for more information and to sign up for the home-delivery program.
