North Cowichan council is getting up to date.
It has voted to change its definition of motor vehicle to allow the possibility of an electric scooter business in Chemainus.
Coun. Kate Marsh explained that the previous definition dated back to the 1960s.
"I'm thrilled we have the staff to update these bylaws now," she said. "It's really needed."
Mayor Jon Lefebure said, "we're not talking about a car dealership on Willow
Street here."
