Police search for suspect after man threatened in Duncan

Seeking public’s help

Police cars with their emergency lights flashing rushed along Coronation Street, Trunk Road and Festubert Street at approximately 10:30 a.m. on April 24 after the RCMP received a complaint from a man who said he’d been approached by a stranger with a weapon.

“The suspect, who was unknown to the complainant, threatened to harm the complainant at a local business on Duncan Street,” said RCMP Cpl. Chris Manseau.

“The suspect fled on foot wearing a brown jacket, blue jeans and carrying a longboard skateboard. A suspect matching the description was located nearby, but was later released pending further investigation.”

Any witnesses who observed the incident, or can identify the suspect, are requested to contact the North Cowichan/Duncan RCMP detachment at 250-748-5522, or Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
