Members of the Cowichan Pride Society were on hand on June 8 for three events to raise the Pride flag to celebrate Pride Month in June.

The Pride Flag was raised at municipal halls in Ladysmith, Duncan and North Cowichan during the day with small ceremonies with each mayor, members of council, and representatives from the Cowichan Pride Society in support of LGBTQ2S+ people.

Among those in attendance at Duncan’s ceremony held outside city hall, were the society’s Ashley and Steven Vomacka, Duncan bylaw officer Stu Allen and Duncan Mayor Michelle Staples.
