A group of protesters from the Cowichan area gathered on March 2 in support of those defending the old-growth forest at Fairy Creek near Port Renfrew. The protesters, who gathered with signs on the pedestrian bridge over the Trans Canada Highway, south of the Silver Bridge, were bringing attention to the ongoing efforts of the Fairy Creek Forest Defenders and other groups opposed to logging one of the last remaining intact old-growth forests on the Island.
