School trustees should stay out of politics

Duncan - A trustee's first duty is to the children. To take the funds provided and do the best they can for educating the students. Next would come the teachers as they provide the education and then comes the parents who give those students life support. The taxpayer and government take a back seat.

Trustees are not politicians and should not play politics. The increase to funding is the responsibility of the electorate. If there is a low voter turnout the government will assume there is little interest in education. On the other hand if a very high voter turn out was to come about the government would think that they should pay attention to the funding for education. The bottom line is trustees should do their job and keep their noses out of politics.John A. Mc DonaldDuncan
