Environment Canada has re-issued a snowfall advisory for much of East Vancouver Island including from Duncan to Nanaimo and north, and from Duncan to Langford and the Greater Victoria area.

“Rapidly accumulating snow will make travel difficult,” said the advisory. “Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions.”

DriveBC is reporting travel advisories for much of the Trans-Canada Highway as the snow continues to accumulate.

“Travel is not recommended unless absolutely necessary,” said the notice, which was issued at 10 a.m. on today, Dec. 26.

Plows have been out and the roads are passable but it’s not advised. Fire crews have been called into the halls to chain up their trucks.

The next update comes from DriveBC at 4 p.m.
