It’s back to classes this week for Cowichan Valley School District students.

Motorists are reminded to obey posted speed zone signs around schools.

“The new school year is fast approaching and staff throughout our district have been preparing our schools, collaborating with colleagues and ensuring that everything is organized for our learners, teachers and support staff,” noted Robyn Gray, superintendent of the school district, in a letter to families. “We are looking forward to the start of the year and the return of our students.

“Every school year brings the opportunity for families, students and staff to walk together in the learning journey. This year is no different, and our whole school community, as well as your children, continue to need your support and guidance as we navigate this new year.”

Gray added Beyond Education, the Strategic Plan 2020-2024, will continue to guide the learning that happens each day throughout the district.

“As I visited classrooms throughout the district last year, I was impressed by the professionalism of our staff and the creativity and ingenuity of our learners. I am looking forward to starting these visits again and continuing to be amazed by our students as this year unfolds.

“I hope that there is enthusiasm and excitement in your household about the opportunities that this new school year holds. We all look forward to seeing your children back at school.”
