Sunfest starts with a bang

The first big night of Sunfest 2014 saw Friday headliner Jake Owen play to an adoring crowd at the Cowichan Exhibition, kicking off with the title track from his latest album, Days of Gold. The charismatic star didn’t disappoint the throngs, making sure to feature his No.1 hit, Beachin’, early in the set.

Joining Owen as big names on the Friday roster were a pair of Canadians: rising star Kira Isabella and the well-established George Canyon, and both were huge crowd-pleasers.

Sunfest continues Saturday with headliner Dean Brody, and Sunday when Tim McGraw tops a lineup that includes Cassadee Pope and Aaron Pritchett.
