BC Transit has released a survey on whether people want to be able to get the bus to Nanaimo. (Sarah Simpson/Cowichan Valley Citizen)

Do you want to be able to take a bus to Nanaimo and back? There’s a survey out that you’ll want to do.

BC Transit, the Cowichan Valley Regional District, and the Regional District of Nanaimo want to hear from you about interregional transit service between the two areas.

The proposed interregional transit service would provide opportunities to travel between the Cowichan Valley and the Nanaimo region via transit.

People can fill out the survey until Oct. 16.

The survey will give customers in both regions a chance to provide feedback on the need for an interregional route including:

• The start and final destinations;

• Preferred trip times and;

• The proposed fares for the service.

A dedicated website is available for more information on the service. The website offers the public a web-based map to pin the start and end of their travel, while providing an opportunity to ask questions or provide comments to staff.
