Take the tree in for chipping

The BC Lions Society's annual Christmas tree recycle, called Chip In for the Kids, returns Jan. 3-4 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. to the BC Forest Discovery Centre parking lot.

The Duncan Lions Club is working with Competition Tree Service, with all funds raised also going to benefit Easter Seals programs and services right here on Vancouver Island, especially Camp Shawnigan.

Only live, cut Christmas trees can be accepted - no artificial or potted trees - and decorations and tinsel must be removed.

Save your tree and empties! On Saturday, Jan. 3, a fundraising tree chipping service and bottle drive will be offered at the Cowichan Secondary School parking lot. Chipping will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. All proceeds go to Dry Grad.
