Taking the challenge

After Cowichan Bay’s regional district director Lori Iannidinardo alerted the public to some hunting debris left at Cowichan Bay, a group of concerned hunters got together and spent the morning of Saturday, Jan. 24 doing a marsh clean-up.  Much debris was collected including many plastic water bottles, plastics lighters, doggy-dung bags, and one lone rubber ducky, according to participants.

“Cowichan Bay is still one of the very few public areas in which the tradition of waterfowl hunting is still enjoyed, and we were happy to do the clean-up,” said John Vanden Dungen.

Iannidinardo has challenge the public to be “garbage free in Area D”.
