Two teenagers were arrested last Saturday night after they were caught on the roof of Drinkwater Elementary School.

Police were alerted to their presence around 10 p.m. on Oct. 3, and responded along with a truck from North Cowichan’s South End fire hall, just in case a ladder was required.

The teens were coaxed off the roof, then arrested and charged with mischief before they were released to their guardians. There was minimal damage done to the school, police said.

“This isn’t this first time police have been called to a school with people on the roof,” said North Cowichan/Duncan RCMP spokesperson Const. Pam Bolton. “But it isn’t common.”
