Thieves smash windows of van on Highway 18, steal tools

A white Chevrolet van was vandalized and tools were stolen from inside while it was parked on Highway 18 just west of Skutz Falls Road.

The crimes were committed sometime between Feb. 1 at 11:30 p.m. and 12:15 p.m. the following day.

The passenger side window was smashed out so thieve(s) could get to its contents.

Lake Cowichan RCMP Const. Andrew Burn said a chop saw, electrical generator, air compressor, and assorted hand tools were taken.
