Hot August weather greeted both participants and watchers at the annual Island Cuzzins Traditional Pow Wow held at the big field beside Cowichan Tribes' Siem Lelum gym last weekend.
The event started Friday evening, Aug. 12 and continued Saturday and Sunday, bringing families and friends together to enjoy the dancing and such traditional activities as welcoming a young dancer officially to her first pow wow.
Those attending were also able to visit a wide variety of vendors, whose booths were placed around the outside of the field.
