Tools for easy bike fixes available at new station

The Cowichan Valley Regional District has installed a bike maintenance station at the Island Savings Centre.

The Cowichan Valley Regional District has installed a bike maintenance station at the Island Savings Centre.

The station offers cyclists basic tools for easy fixes. This includes a pump, wrenches, hex keys and other bike tools that can be used for simple adjustments.

The station is available for public use and is located on the west side of the building next to the electric vehicle charge stations.

“Ultimately, the station supports healthy living and environmental stewardship as we work towards active transportation in our communities,” said CVRD chairperson Jon Lefebure.

This station is a pilot project.

If it is successful, additional stations will be installed at priority cycling locations within the CVRD.
