Truck loses load, backs up traffic on highway in Duncan

No one was injured, although traffic was backed up somewhat, when a semi truck lost its load going through Duncan on Thursday morning.

The truck was travelling through Duncan on the Trans-Canada Highway when it spilled some of its load of sheet metal near the intersection with Trunk Road around 7:30 a.m. According to North Cowichan/Duncan RCMP spokesperson Sgt. Chris Swain, Commercial Vehicle Safety and Enforcement attended the scene and spoke with the driver about the straps he was using, but decided not to lay any charges.

The sheet metal was reloaded on the truck and the driver went on his way. Traffic was reduced to one lane for a short time.
