Duncan firefighters were called out in the noon hour on Thursday, Aug. 3 to deal with a grassfire in the heavily residential area of Coronation Avenue near Trunk Road.

There was a call out to BC Hydro, too, because a power line was down, and the street was closed off between Bundock and Trunk.

The temperature in Duncan at the time was 36 degrees Celsius.

Neighbours stood across the street watching as a firefighter used a garden hose to put out the small fire, which, luckily, had not spread far.
