Zoning Amendment Bylaw No. 4496

Notice is hereby given by the Cowichan Valley Regional District that the Board of Directors will consider 1st and 2nd reading of Zoning Amendment Bylaw No. 4496, applicable to Electoral Area G – Saltair/Gulf Islands, at the regular Board meeting on Wednesday, June 28, 2023, at 1:30 p.m. Persons who believe their interest in property is affected by the proposed Bylaw may participate by electronic means or in-person.

PURPOSE OF THE PROPOSED BYLAW

Electoral Area G - Saltair/Gulf Islands Zoning

Amendment Bylaw No. 4496

Subject Property: 11224 Chemainus Road

Legal Description: LOT 2, DISTRICT LOT 41, OYSTER

DISTRICT, PLAN 6915 (PID: 003-067-327)

The purpose of proposed Bylaw No. 4496 is to amend the Electoral Area G – Saltair/Gulf Islands Zoning Bylaw

No. 2524, 2005, by:

• Rezoning the subject property from R-2 – Suburban

Residential 2 Zone to R-2A – Suburban Residential

2A Zone

• Adding site-specific special regulation within R-2A

Zone to allow for an accessory dwelling unit to be 100 m2 in floor area.

A copy of Zoning Amendment Bylaw No. 4496, along with other materials that may be considered by the Board in arriving at a decision, are available for public inspection. These materials may be examined at the Regional District Land Use Services Department office, 175 Ingram Street, Duncan, BC, from June 15, 2023, to June 27, 2023, between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, excluding statutory holidays.
