Council will consider first, second, and third readings and adoption of “Zoning Bylaw Amendment Bylaw No. 3166.05, 2024” on Monday, June 3, 2024. In accordance with new provincial housing legislation (Section 464(3) of the Local Government Act), the City is prohibited from holding a public hearing on this bylaw.
What is the purpose of Zoning Bylaw Amendment Bylaw No. 3166.05, 2024?
The purpose of the proposed bylaw is to amend Zoning Bylaw No. 3166, 2017 by replacing the existing Low Density Residential Zone with a new Low Density Residential Zone that complies with provincial statutory requirement to permit small-scale multi-unit housing – at least four dwelling units – on properties in this zoning, and associated amendments to parking, bed and breakfast, and residential daycare regulations related to small-scale multi-unit housing.
