Born 1930 in Hull, Quebec, Al left school early to start work first at St. Lawrence Starch, next spending five years in the Navy before joining Canada Post where he completed his career as the West Coast Director of Finance and Administration taking early retirement in 1984.
Thanks to Dr. Glenn Robinson for his care through the years and a very special thanks to his caregiver Margaret Southall who brought so much light and joy to his life while providing such loving care in his final year.
Al was pre-deceased by Doreen, the love of his life, in 2002. He leaves behind daughters Dawn (Randy) and Deb (Ronn), grandchildren Renee (Ken), Rick and Shawnna,
great-grandchildren Corey, Tanner and Vienna. Al is also survived by Nephew Mike, (Donna), Niece Lynn and an extended family of nieces and nephews in the Ottawa area.
Funeral Service will be held at Sands Funeral Chapel, 187 Trunk Road in Duncan on October 26, 2019 at 10:00 am following which Al will be laid to rest at Hatley Memorial Gardens. Condolences may be offered at www.sandsduncan.ca
