In Loving Memory ~
It is with deep sadness we share the news that Allen passed away at home with his family by his side on May 26, 2022, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Allen is survived by his wife Charlotte of 58 years. They were always in love and shared this love with everyone in their lives. Allen was so kind, loving and proud of his family. He is also survived by his four children, Shelly (Rick), Duane (Tina), Lisa (Geff ) and Cristine (Todd), as well as nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Allen was born in Shaunavon, Saskatchewan. He then moved with his family to Drumheller, Alberta. He began his career as a printer at the Drumheller Mail at the age of 16 years old. He then met Charlotte at 21 years old and they got married on August 10, 1963. After getting married, Allen and Charlotte moved to Regina and then Lethbridge before settling in Duncan. Allen was always improving his job to provide for his family. Allen retired from the Queens Printer in Victoria in 2002 and never wore a watch again!
Allen was so quick witted and always had something fun to say. He loved telling jokes and playing cards, especially when he won! He enjoyed woodworking and fishing. Allen loved all animals, especially his dogs. He thought of them as just more family to love. Allen’s family all have a million memories to hold dear.
We would like to send special thanks to Dr. Bryan Bass, the nurses at the Oncology department of CDH, home support workers and the Cancer Clinic in Victoria.
In lieu of flowers if you would care to make a donation, please donate to the Cancer Society or the SPCA.
A celebration of life will be held at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church located at 531 Herbert Street, Duncan, on June 10, 2022 at 1:00 pm. Reception to follow.
Forever loving you.
