Anneliese was born in Singen, Germany in 1927.
She married in 1949 and immigrated to Canada with her husband, Hans Reuter, in 1951, settling in the Cowichan Valley.
She was left a widow at a young age and raised her two children, Sig and Siglinde, on her own. She instilled in them good core values, a sense of beauty and a love of music.
She worked at the Municipality of North Cowichan and at Williams and Davies' Law firm before becoming a music teacher of both the piano and classical guitar. She enjoyed her hiking club, Tai Chi, Qigong and folk dancing groups; she loved her exercise group and helped to lead it for many years. Swimming in Maple Bay was a delight and she did it well into her 80's.
Anneliese volunteered at the Duncan Museum, her grandsons' school in Saltair, and as an assistant to the adjudicators at the Cowichan Music Festival. She was respected and loved by many.
After suffering a stroke she died peacefully with her children and their spouses at her side. She is survived by her sister Margaret Fischer, children Siglinde Ewing (Joe Harris) and Sig Reuter (Jan), 6 beloved grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren, and niece and nephews of the Kilian family whom she treasured.
