April 18, 1940 - July 18, 2021
It is with sadness we announce the death of Beverly Maxine deLure (Frazer). Beverly passed away on July 18, 2021 at the Cowichan District Hospital with her four children around her. She was a sharp, caring and graceful 81 years old.
Beverly was preceded in death by her husband, George; her mother, Minnie; her father, Robert; her sister, Vivian and her brothers Dale and John (Nick). She is survived by her sister, Yvonne (Bunty); four children; ten grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and a large extended family.
Beverly was born in Duncan, BC on April 18, 1940. She spent her childhood in Youbou, BC and moved around British Columbia after meeting George and starting their family. She spent a portion of her life raising her children in Nanaimo, BC and after retirement settled back in Youbou at one of her favorite places-- next to the lake.
Over the years Beverly was active with many different hobbies and community services. We remember her spending time painting ceramics and creating beautiful needlepoint, but she ultimately is known best for her gorgeous knitting (although she'll tell you her sister Bunty is much better). Throughout her life maintaining her flower gardens was also always an important pastime and her raspberry jam is certainly going to be missed.
One of Beverly's biggest passions though was family. She spent decades in pursuit of her family's genealogy, taking trips to glean information and trace her ancestry. No matter what, family came first to Beverly and through her actions she lived her favorite motto: Families are forever.
Due to current COVID restrictions we are unfortunately unable to hold an open service. The family will be hosting an open house to honor Beverly at her Miracle Way home on the lake in the spring of 2022.
